South African R&B singer and songwriter Candice Pillay gained major notoriety after co-writing hits for Rihanna as well as several tracks with Christina Aguilera. She has also written for Tinie Tempah, Dr. Dre, Aubrey O'Day, among others. She most recently released “Stand Silent” with Jon Connor, a protest song inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement in the US and the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa.
